Behavioural Gerontology Reference List

Free behavioural gerontology resource

References about ABA with older adults

PACT created a behavioural gerontology reference list for anyone interested in the application of ABA to improving the lives of older adults.

The reference list includes over 30 pages of references about ABA with older adults, including more than 170 references. It was created as a useful starting point for students, behaviour analysts and professionals interested in older adult services, dementia care and behavioural gerontology.

The original Kajabi email form is not currently being recreated. For now, contact PACT if you would like access to the reference list or want to discuss behavioural gerontology resources, supervision or training.

Who is it for?

BCBAs, BCaBAs and RBTs

Behaviour analysis professionals who want to explore the behavioural gerontology literature and applications with older adults.

Students in ABA

Students looking for a starting point for reading, projects, theses or future practice in older adult and dementia care settings.

Interested professionals

Clinicians, academics and care professionals interested in behaviourally informed support for older adults.

A starting point, not a complete review

Behavioural gerontology is a specialist field, and people can sometimes assume there is very little behaviour-analytic work with older adults. The reference list was created to make it easier to find examples of relevant research and applied work.

It is not a complete review of every relevant paper, but it is intended to help people find useful articles and begin exploring the field more confidently.
