Training for care settings
Behavioural Approaches long-form training
This course develops carers’ understanding of dementia and equips them with practical skills to prevent distressed behaviour by improving quality of life.
The training is designed for direct care staff working with people who have dementia in care homes, nursing homes, EMI settings and dementia wards. It is also suitable for team leaders, managers and dementia care practitioners.
Focused dementia training
The Dementia Sessions
The Dementia Sessions were designed to teach carers about important behavioural guidance, why different behaviours might happen and how to support positive outcomes.
The current session information covers washing and bathing, dressing and grooming, and agitation and aggression. Each detailed page explains the session content and who it may help.

Individualised support
Behavioural consultancy, assessment and intervention
We understand that caring for someone living with dementia can be incredibly stressful. PACT offers individualised support with current challenges and works to understand why behaviour is occurring before developing practical recommendations.
Support can include assessment of behavioural expressions of unmet need, living environment analysis, activity planning, caregiver training and personally tailored intervention. PACT also works with people who may benefit from increased engagement or support to retain important skills.
Training for organisations
Bespoke organisational training and support
PACT can offer bespoke training where suitable. If you do not see exactly what you need, contact PACT to discuss your staff training needs and the behavioural or organisational support you are looking for.
