The Dementia Sessions Online Training

Introducing The Dementia Sessions

The Dementia Sessions series of online dementia training courses, presented by Behaviour Analyst Dr. Emma Williams, are designed to teach all carers about important behavioural guidance, provide advice on why different behaviours might happen and how to support positive outcomes. Most of the carers that she has come across, during years of clinical work, told her that one of the biggest struggles they had was how to manage different behaviours that they hadn’t experienced before, such as wandering, distressed behaviour, refusal with personal care tasks, or a whole range of other behaviours. Dr. Emma shares techniques carers can implement that can help reduce distressed behaviours and enhance person-centred care leading to improved quality of life, for both yourself as the caregiver, and the person living with dementia.

Session format: The Dementia Sessions

The Dementia Sessions use shorter-format online learning that carers can work through at their own pace. Each session focuses on a specific area of dementia care, providing practical strategies and insights to address common challenges.

Our dementia training courses include:

  • Supporting with Washing & Bathing: Gain insights into managing hygiene challenges while ensuring comfort and dignity.
  • Supporting with Dressing & Grooming: Discover techniques to maintain dignity, promote independence, and reduce stress during daily routines.
  • Managing Agitated & Aggressive Behaviour: Learn how to identify triggers, implement effective communication strategies, and manage crisis situations.
